1. Background: An Employee’s performance and adherence to high business standards is an important and integral part of the value chain for Travelr Taxi and Tour Services here-after referred to as Travelr. Travelr promotes and expects the application of high legal, ethical, environmental and employee related standards within our own business and among our Employees.
Travelr is committed to integrity and professionalism. Travelr has a clear set of standards for all its business conduct. Deviations from, or violations of the Code of Conduct are unacceptable to Travelr, and our employees, clients and investors should feel able to raise them without any fear of retaliation or discrimination. To that end, we provide an email: ethics@travelrtaxi.com to deal with sensitive ethical issues.
This Employee Code of Conduct sets forth the minimum standards of business conduct we expect from all of our Employees. Employees should notify Travelr as soon as reasonably possible if he/she becomes aware that action connected with the employee’s performance of the services could reasonably be considered to impact Travelr business and/or reputation. The Employee shall not perform any services on verbal communication only unless it is within line of services offered.
The clauses as stated in this Code of Conduct are by no means inclusive of all the circumstances an employee may encounter during the course of their engagement with Travelr. Travelr expects all its employees to adhere to the code of conduct. Any contravention of the clauses mentioned herein could result in levying legal action against the employee, including termination/dismissal/legal penalties. If a law conflicts with a clause in this Code of Conduct document, the employee must comply with the law. Travelr retains the right to revise all or any portion of this policy at any time and from time to time in its sole discretion, subject to applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
2. Compliance with laws: Obeying the law, both in letter and in spirit, is the foundation on which Travelr ethical standards are built. Employees must respect, obey, and comply with the laws of the land in all aspects.
3. Health and safety: All staff, drivers, investors and clients must ensure that they abide by all local laws, directives and regulations relating to health and safety in their line of service or in any other location or area that they may occasionally offer services on behalf of Travelr.
4. Ethics: The highest standard of integrity is expected in all our business dealings. Any and all forms of corruption, extortion, bribery (including facilitation payments) and embezzlement are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination and legal action. Specifically, Employees will not offer or provide money or anything of value to any person if the circumstances indicate that it is probable that all or part of the money or other thing of value is being given to another individual or entity to influence official action or to obtain a business advantage. Subject to the foregoing, community engagement is encouraged to help foster social development.
Employees are expected to understand relevant Travelr policies before offering or providing Travelr personnel with any gift and/or business entertainment. Gifts or entertainment should never be offered to Travelr personnel or representatives under the circumstances that it creates the appearance of impropriety. Employees must comply with all applicable trade control laws and regulations in the import, export, re-export or transfer of goods, services (including software and technology).
All invoices and any customs or similar documentation submitted to Travelr or governmental authorities in connection with transactions involving Travelr must accurately describe the goods and services provided and the price thereof including the breakup of applicable taxes.
Employees shall not share or exchange any price, costs or other competitive information or undertaking of any collusive conduct with any other third party to Travelr with respect to any proposed, pending, or current Travelr procurement.
We expect employees to not abuse their employment benefits. This can refer to time off, insurance, facilities, subscriptions or any other benefits our company offers.
5. Monitoring: Travelr may conduct daily, weekly, monthly or annual compliance audits at its discretion to confirm compliance by employee with this Code of Conduct. However, Travelr expects that Employees will actively audit and monitor their day-to-day management process with respect to the Travelr Code of Conduct and provide evidence to Travelr upon request.
6. Confidential Information: All records and information in whatever form relating to Travelr or its customers / clients / investors / employees are confidential. Employees must, therefore, treat all such matters according to the laws that govern Non-Disclosure Agreements (N.D.A.). Confidential Information includes, but is not limited to, organization-related information, documents (including electronic documents), notes, files, records, computer files or similar materials whether shared via WhatsApp, email, or any other means.
Additionally, Confidential Information includes privileged information relating to clients, special client information, development and production methods and techniques, promotional materials technical information and confidential processes (including software tools and software development processes), design ideas, machinery, plans, devices or materials and other similar matters treated by organization as confidential. Confidential Information may not be removed from Travelr premises except in the course of performing duties on behalf of Travelr and with the permission of the respective department heads.
Additionally, the contents of Travelr records or information otherwise obtained in regard to business may not be disclosed to anyone, except where required for a business purpose or required by laws or regulations. Employees (during the term of their engagement with Travelr and thereafter) must not disclose, furnish, or make accessible, any confidential information, purposefully or inadvertently (through casual conversation), to any unauthorized person.
7. Maintenance of Corporate Books and Records; Financial Integrity and Reporting: Employees shall ensure that all transactions and holdings relating to their dealings with Travelr, be recorded in proper detail and according to the accounting standards as applicable from time to time in the respective flow implemented by Travelr. Such records shall be available for audit at any time, if required and no such records may be held elsewhere than at Travelr premises and/or on company systems, and all such records should be accessible to authorized staff at all times. Such records are required to be maintained for such a period as has been governed by the law of Jamaica.
Supporting documentation such as invoices or receipts should not be forged or post-dated. The integrity of the employee’s records depends on the validity, accuracy and completeness of the information supporting the entries to the books of account. Employees must not make false or misleading entries relating to financial results. It is important that the books, records, and accounts accurately and fairly reflect, in reasonable detail, the assets, liabilities, revenues, costs and expenses, as well as all transactions and changes in assets and liabilities.
8. Social Media Policy: Travelr understands that social media can be a fun and rewarding way to share your life and opinions with family, friends, and co-workers around the world. However, the use of social media also presents certain risks and carries with it certain responsibilities. In the rapidly expanding world of electronic communication, social media can mean many things. Social media includes all means of communicating or posting information or content of any sort on the Internet, including to your own or someone else's web log or blog, journal or diary, personal web site, social networking or affinity web site, web bulletin board or a chat room, whether or not associated or affiliated with Travelr, as well as any other form of electronic communication.
Ultimately, staff, drivers, investors and clients are solely responsible for what they post online. Before creating online content, consider some of the risks and rewards that are involved.
Keep in mind that any conduct that adversely affects customers, staff, and people who work on behalf of Travelr or Travelr’ legitimate business interests may result in legal action, including termination of employment or agreement.
Maintain the confidentiality of Travelr trade secrets and private or confidential information. Trades secrets may include information regarding the development of systems, processes, products, know-how and technology. Do not post internal reports, policies, procedures, or other internal business-related confidential communications. Never represent yourself as a spokesperson for Travelr nor any company affiliate. If Travelr is a subject of the content you are creating, be clear and open about the fact that you are an employee and make it clear that your views do not represent those of Travelr, its management, members, customers, employees, or people working on behalf of Travelr.
Employees should not speak to the media on Travelr behalf. All media inquiries should be directed to Travelr directly at mediainquiries@travelrtaxi.com. Travelr has a well-established means of communicating publicly to the marketplace and to the general public; therefore, only officially designated employees are authorized to speak to the public on behalf of Travelr. This is necessary in order to ensure a consistent message on behalf of Travelr that is regarding matters involving Travelr to the media and the general public. Only authorized representatives may speak to the public or media on behalf of Travelr.
9. Conflict of interest: Conflicts of interest are prohibited as a matter of Travelr policy. An employee who becomes aware of a conflict or potential conflict should bring it to the attention of his Travelr point of contact or other appropriate personnel. Employees shall not use, knowingly or unknowingly, Travelr property, funds, position, or power for personal or political gain. Employees must not allow any situation or personal interests to interfere with the exercise of their independent judgment or ability to act in the best interests of Travelr. A conflict of interest may arise in the following areas:
· Speculating, or dealing in equipment supplies, materials or property purchased by Travelr or dealing in his/own account in products sold by Travelr.
· Borrowing money from Employees or clients or from individuals or firms with whom Travelr does business.
· Accepting gifts or favors, being entertained, or accepting other personal obligations, which are substantial for him/herself or a family member from clients and/or Employees, whether local or foreign. In no event shall an employee give or receive a gift in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, options, kind, or similar items.
